Kicker Cat Toy
You can use whatever yarn you want (this pattern is great for half-skeins leftover from other projects!), but I find that cotton is the cleanest out of what I've tried for cat toys. Acrylic tends to fuzz up, and that fuzz catches more lint. Wool develops a small bit of fuzz too, but not as much as acrylic.
You can stuff your kicker with polyfill, catnip, plastic bags, or anything else you think would be fun and safe for your kitty. This one is stuffed with alternating layers of polyester fiberfill and catnip.
I recommend against using bells, as we've had issues with a bell on the inside of a crocheted toy breaking one of Taki's claws. It wasn't a big injury, they healed quickly with little pain, but it's still unpleasant for everyone : ( If you decide to add a bell, I recommend sewing it in to make it less of a choking hazard in the event that the toy is ripped open.
SC = Single Crochet.
INVDEC = Invisible Single Crochet Decrease (You can do a basic single crochet decrease instead if you're so inclined; it won't make a big difference.)
